Cloversac Emma 28 purse organizer for Longchamp Le Pliage

If you are looking for a purse organizer and haven’t heard of CloverSac then you have got to look them up because they are one of the leading companies that specialize in purse organizer inserts, base shapers, dust bag, rain cover and other accessories for popular designer handbags. Armed with a purse organizer insert by CloverSac, you will be able to keep your handbag neat and organized with both your personal stuff and all your baby/toddler crap stuff! You will actually be able to find that pacifier or your phone that won't stop ringing! This post is photo heavy and will show all the features of Cloversac's Emma 28 inside my large Longchamp Le Pliage (the shopper).

The organizer comes shipped as pictured above - collapsed. You just push and pull it open and you get what is pictured below!

You can't see this, but in the mesh panel toward the top of the picture, you have 3 pieces of flexible plastic that is pictured below. It is tucked in there for shipping and you just remove it to insert into premade pockets of the organizer to give it structure and stability to stand upright in your bag.

Pictured above are the flexible plastic pieces that insert into pre-made pockets in the organizer. These are key for a supportive and stable organizer that won't collapse onto itself (which is really annoying when you are fishing for things in your overloaded bag).

Pictured above are the two of the three slots you insert your plastic pieces.  The top is actually the bottom of the organizer (confusing, right?) and the velcro opening is one of the two sides. The velcro helps hold the plastic piece in there without falling down, or out. Great engineering!

Pictured above is the bottom plastic piece being inserted into the organizer.

Pictured above is one of the side plastic pieces being inserted into the organizer.

Look how much structure the plastic supports give the organizer!! It stands upright and is very sturdy while being lightweight at the same time. A dream combination when you don't want to lug around a 20lb bag on your shoulders. Pictured above, you can see one side of the interior that features a panel that gives you 3 pockets - one large one that spans the entire length of the organizer, one medium and one small one in the front. Also, take note that one of three of the exterior pockets is also shown in this photo that also spans the entire length of the organizer.

Here is view of the opposite exterior side of the organizer that features two of the three exterior pockets. Keep note that they are not gusseted pockets so you can't stick a ton of stuff in it. For reference, it does fit one diaper in each exterior pocket!

Opposite the mesh interior pockets, there are 3 gusseted pockets that expand to fit a something with more...girth (I tried to think of a different word but this ended up being the most appropriate description!!). Please note, I haven't attached the middle section yet! You'll notice the female metal snaps in the interior on the far right side of the organizer - that is where I attach the optional 4 section middle divider that comes with the bag shown below.

You just snap this in. There is actually a wrong way to attach these. Pictured above is the wrong way to attach it. It's hard to tell but there isn't a lot of length following the last button. This creates a gap between the bottom of this attachment and the bottom of the organizer. You'll know you installed it incorrectly when it is hovering in the air after you attach this piece. This is not how it was designed to be. All you do is flip it around and attach it! When it is attached correctly, there is no gap between the middle piece and the bottom of the organizer. This middle piece is completely optional and you can take it out if you don't want to use it.

This is the organizer in my large Longchamp Le Pliage. You'll notice that there is a gap at the top and that this organizer does not fit perfectly in the bottom of the bag. It's not totally custom to this bag but that wasn't a huge deal to be because I plan to either stuff a blanket/swaddle in that opening, diapers, or wipes in that gap. The options are endless when you have kids. For this picture, I stuffed my Lesportsac bag in the gap. There is also some room on the side of the bag that allows you to stuff a water bottle, or another kid item. It would be nice to have the organize fit exactly though.

Look at this beautiful organization!! I feel on top of the world when my things are organized and not just loosely jumbled in the dark hole that is my purse. I can actually find my pens!!!

Having this organizer keeps your bag from sagging, too! You don't need a base shaper if you are already using a purse organizer because it helps keep the base from sagging with the flexible bottom support. If you are using a different type of purse organizer without much structure or support on the bottom of the organizer, then you will need to consider using a base shaper so your bag doesn't sag - unless you like the saggy look.

The organizer comes in three colors: red, beige and black. I personally chose the red because the beige would show dirty quickly and the black would blend in and make it visually more difficult to see the different slots easily in a low light area known as the black hole of your purse.

The Emma 28 measures 11”L x 6”H x 5” and is the second of the largest organizers Cloversac offers. I was told by Cloversac that the Grand 35 (the largest organizer they currently carry at the time of posting) does not fit into the large Le Pliage and will be discontinued and be replaced with the Emma 36. I don't have details of the Emma 36, but I hope it does address some of the sizing and fit shortcomings of the Emma 28 for the large Le Pliage. But still, at the price point Cloversac offers their purse organizer and the quality of the organizer, it is a great organizer to have. Another update I hope to see in its future is for the organizer to be a tad taller - not too much taller but just a few inches to accommodate items that are taller. I highly recommend this organizer for the price, solid construction, and how much joy it brings to the life of a new mom!! When everything else is in disarray, at least you can count on your bag to be organized!

Lastly, according to their website, this organizer is made to fit a variety of handbags.
This bag organizer has been widely used to fit into many popular handbags such as LV Speedy 30, LV Neverfull MM, Hermes Birkin 35, Garden Party 36cm Tote,Garden Party Tote, Mulbery Regular sized Del Rey, Regular sized, Bayswater, Celine mini luggage, large trapeze, medium luggage type, phantom large, phantom medium, Goyard St louis GM tote, Longchamp Le Pliage Large Shoulder Bag Black (1899 089 001) and many more.

Buti-bag haul review!

I am pretty excited to share my reviews on the company Buti-bag with you! They were kind enough to provide some of their popular items for me to review for all of you!  This company was founded by a mother of 2 boys who was unable to find a way to organizer her toiletry needs and decided to design her own bags with the help of her step mother. The byproducts of their ideas and talent will be reviewed below! Disclaimer: this is is going to be a very picture heavy post (click for larger pictures)!

buti-pod travel wipes cases v4.0

We buy our wipes in bulk like most people and keep it in each bathroom, in the dog area, and in the garage to wipe dirty paws or for our dog's peri-hygiene! We were looking for a travel case to use so we didn't have of multiple large bags to have them dry out and these fit the bill.

The bag features gusseted seams so it is expandable to accommodate lots of wipes. Though, their website advises no more than 15-20 wipes in order to keep it from drying out and for freshness. To fill the pod, you just unzip and stick wipes in! Very intuitive.

This particular bag design is one I haven't seen on the market yet and it features a zippered design to close the bag in order to keep your wipes moist. The bag itself is very light and not bulky at all, but you can fill it with 12-15 wipes. This buti-pod measures 8.5" x 5" and is 1.5oz.

buti-pod flip

The buti-pod flip wipes case features a flip top design. I opted for the hummingbird design and a clear one. I wish they had a 2 pack of both clear, but I actually like the hummingbird design. I wasn't a fan of the other blue checkered design, though.

This wipe case also features gusseted seam at the bottom, but for some reason, this one doesn't stay compacted and together. Once out of the plastic packaging it came in, it just stays partially open so it doesn't lay as flat as its zippered pal.

The design of the buti-flip is pretty similar to the Huggies Clutch N Clean. It is a travel flip case that you refill from the top zip-lock style seam. I personally love this style of travel wipe bags because the flip is so easy to open and close one handed rather than the zip. But, it's hard to say how long that plastic piece will stay intact from the constant opening and closing. It's bound to eventually split, unlike its pal, the buti-pod zipper.

The bag features a little carrying lanyard on the side, very similar to the Huggies one.

Also, as I mentioned, to refill, you just open the top and slide the wipes in. This is just just like your typical ziplock top. Again, this is my favorite design for use out of all the wipe cases in this post. But I am concerned about the longevity of the plastic open/close piece. This case measures 7" x 5" x 0.5", so it is slightly smaller than the buti-pod zippered pouch. I will show you a comparison of all 3 pouches I am reviewing below!

bitty buti-pod

This is exactly like its big brother, the butipod. Except, smaller. This is perfect for holding facial wipes, makeup wipes, or nose wipes for your baby!!  This is the perfect size for these smaller wipes so I am so glad these are not available! These are available in the both zipper and flip designs, but here we are reviewing the zipper version.

This bag also features the gusseted expandable seam.

Keep in mind, none of these pouches are leak-proof and is not meant to keep your wipes moist forever. The bitty buti-pod is 6" x 4.5", and expands 1 inch with the side gusset. I love these bags for my makeup wipes, they are the perfect size!

Here is a comparison of all three types of their travel cases so you can see the difference between each one.

And here are the two buti-pod and buti-flip with wipes inside, ready for use!

I do want to mention here that my reviews on the wipe dispenser bags are first impressions and I have only been able to test them for a week. I will update my post if I have any issues with the product after a few months or use to determine if they are study enough to handle the beating of frequent use!

buti earth bags, Classic Black Lace (2-pack)

These are Buti-EARTH-Bags! Basically they are your normal reusable grocery bags but better! They are made from strong laminated polypropylene fabric making it extremely sturdy for heavy groceries (like a gallon of milk and juice in the same bag!). The fabric used for these bags make them wipe-able, which addresses the sanitary issues with many reusable bags.

The handles are nylon material and extend all the way around the bottom of the bag to offer extra support and strengthen the ability of the bag to carry heavy items without ripping.

Dimensions when open (in inches): 13" wide x 15" high x 9.5" deep

The bag is nice and rigid so it doesn't flop over when you have it open to put groceries in it. It stands straight up on its own. Nothing is more frustrating when you are trying to load stuff in your bag and need one hand to open the bag and keep it open!!

The bag has a bottom insert that is rigid and reinforces the bottom of the bag. This does make the bag harder to fold. You have to take the insert out and put it on the side to be able to fold it properly. That's the only downside with the plastic insert even though it creates more support. My husband and I now each have one in our car to use and loved using it at the grocery store. The design is not too feminine for him to use either.

I was told by the owner that Buti-bag has a 90-day guarantee on their products to give you enough time to try out the products and if there are any issues, they can issue you a replacement or merchandise credit, shipping costs both ways is your responsibility. It's great they have this guarantee, but as a consumer, that makes me feel a little insecure about ordering when I don't have a guarantee of my money back (the original form of payment) if the item does not perform its function or is a disappointment. This guarantee isn't as good as your average stores like Target, which you can return items up to 90 days and receive a return with the method of your original form of payment. Sometimes, if I don't like a product, I don't want store credit to purchase any other products. So, there's that small risk. See the screenshot of their return policy below as of 7/4/2017.

Note: I was contacted by the owner of buti-bag, Nicole, and informed that if the customer is dissatisfied and they contact the company within 90 days the company will refund you in your original form of payment. If they ask for you to return the merchandise, you will need to pay for return shipping. See details below.

KOOB The Viking Game

If you've never played Viking chess at a BBQ, beach or outdoor setting, you are missing out! It's a fun lawn/outdoor game that using sturdy wooden game pieces that has been around since the Viking ages. Koob is the name of the game (or others call it Viking chess) and it is rumored that the Vikings use to play it more than 1, 000 years ago.

This particular Koob set being reviewed is by produced by MollenLiving, a company focused on producing lifestyle products that embody the Scandinavian way of life, and manufactured in Canada. I love using products that are not cheaply made in China. Now that's not to say products made elsewhere is superior, but, sometimes I like to support another country's industry. So I was happy to find out that this wood set was actually manufactured in Canada.

The package comes with very little waste! All the pieces come snug into reuseable storage bag that fits perfectly in the box it came in. All you have to do is pull the bag out and your whole game is there!

The wood is white birch, which is sustainable hardwood and perfect for this game. You get 4 stakes, 6 throwing sticks, 10 koobs, and 1 king.

The game is made of untreated wood (read: chemical-free). That's another reason I try not to always buy products made in China! The following are the dimensions of the pieces in inches: King: 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 x 11 13/16 KOOB: 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 x 5 29/32 Throwing stick: 1 x 1 x 11 13/16 Corner post: 5/8 x 5/8 x 11 13/16.

The king piece, as you can see in the picture above and below, are nicely designed. The details are beautifully carved and very smooth to the touch.

We were really impressed with the quality of the wooden pieces. We've played with the set once at the beach before posting this review and it plays nicely and the pieces are sturdy and have not suffered any cosmetic damages from the first play. We are really happy with how compact and well made this set is! If you want to see the game play of Koob, visit their website: http://playkoob.com/.

Crucial Medical Systems CMS 50E OLED Rechargeable Fingertip Pulse Oximeter

Crucial Medical Systems Pulse Oximeter CMS 50
Fulfillement by ClinicalGuard.com

Clinical Guard was founded in 2006 and have been a source of reliable medical supplies for healthcare professionals as well as everyday people. They offer many products such as fetal dopplers, pregnancy and ovulation tests, thermometers, nebulizers, blood pressure monitors, peak flow meters, ECG/EKG machines, patient monitors, and more. Read more about the company here.

The pulse ox comes securely packaged in its box. All the accessories and disks are packed underneath.

The package comes with the pulse ox device, charging cord and adapter, software installation CD, lanyard, and manual.

My favorite part about this pulse ox is that it is rechargeable! No more worries about batteries. This uses the standard usb charging cable, not the more popular micro usb that most devices use now-a-day. I'd love to see an update to the charging to a more common cable to reduce the amount of household cable management we have now a days!

I plugged the device in first thing, before using it. A blue light comes on and once it has completed its charge, the blue light is no longer on. The first charge was completed pretty quickly. I didn't time it bu it was just a few hours.

Now, it came time to test this 50E model response time with their more basic 50DL model that I reviewed here. My previous "complaint," if you can really call it a complaint is the longer time it takes for a reading and how it would slow down your job if you were to use this in the healthcare setting when you need a more instantaneous read. Unfortunately, after timing it, it is not necessarily faster at reading, but it does come with a slew of other redeeming qualities that you might want to consider.

The reading time is nominally faster than the 50DL, but it is so small that the average user won't notice it at all. It is nearly the same as far as time. I believe the reason is that this 50E model requires you to long press the button for the pulse ox to "turn on" then begin its reading. The 50DL just requires a quick press to the button and it starts up. I don't know how this will affect the battery life of the 50DL since, perhaps, it is always on standby. Once this 50E model, the one reviewed here, is on, it is relatively quick to give you a reading. It also shows you a graphic chart (pleth waveform) under the number output of your pulse for a visual representation of your pulse. This pulse ox allows you to customize for your use much more than other ones I've come across. For instance, you can set an alarm so when it falls below a certain marker, it will alert you. This may be helpful for those who use this overnight who may have a sleeping disorder, such as sleep apnea, or COPD that need to monitor their sats throughout their day or during their sleep. This pulse ox also allows you to change the orientation of the reading so that it is horizontal or vertical. It's a very thoughtful design.

Another feature of this pulse ox is that it can store 24 hours worth of data. I have not used this feature as this is not something I need. But, this is an extremely helpful tool for those who need to monitor their oxygen saturation due to a pulmonary disorder. The readings can be uploaded to your computer using the included disc. Please note that this CD is only compatible with PC (windows) and not designed for Mac iOs users. That is something I'd like to see in the near future, especially with so many apple users on the rise for the geriatric population.

Overall, this is a great tool to consider for those home users who need a log of their oxygen saturation and not just a snapshot that the 50DL is able to provide. This is much more advanced with more features that benefit those who require more monitoring. Additionally, as a healthcare provider myself, this is a nice-to-have pulse ox that you can use on your patients and also educate them on the extra features a premium model has to offer if it benefits their condition.

Clinical Guard Fingertip Pulse Oximeter

Clinical Guard was founded in 2006 and have been a source of reliable medical supplies for healthcare professionals as well as everyday people. They offer many products such as fetal dopplers, pregnancy and ovulation tests, thermometers, nebulizers, blood pressure monitors, peak flow meters, ECG/EKG machines, patient monitors, and more. Read more about the company here.

You might be wondering, why in the world would I need a pulse oximeter for? Isn't it just for health professionals? Well, I'm an occupational therapist working in the healthcare field and yes I use this nearly every day and was looking for a replacement. I'm here to tell you, that average healthy people can benefit from having one! This is a helpful little gadget to have with you during working out, whether young or old. For the young, you may want to monitor your heart rate during strenuous workouts/cardio while also getting a view of your oxygen saturation when your heart is pumping hard. For those who are more elderly, this is a good tool to have to monitor how much oxygen is in your blood at rest, during activity (workout), then afterwards. It's a good idea to keep these numbers in a notebook if you have any medical condition that may benefit from tracking your oxygen saturation (heart disease, asthma, those on oxygen...etc).

CG's pulse oximeter is a simple and reliable oximeter for the home user. The display is easy to read due to the red illuminated numbers. I've found this oximeter to be reliable when compared to what I use in the workplace. The pulse ox requires 2 AAA batteries that is not included in the package. With 2 AAA batteries, your pulse ox should run for at least 30 hours of continuous use.

What is included is a durable carrying case and 2 lanyards that you can attach to the end of the pulse ox. You can use the lanyards to wear around your neck when you are on a walk/run.

I think this is a great pulse ox for the average home user. At the price, it is a no brainer recommendation that this is the pulse ox to get. However, if you are a healthcare professional that plans to use it often, as I do, this one falls a bit short because of how long it takes to get a reading. It takes longer than some others. However, this particular model may be marketed to the average user where quick readings are not a priority.
