Glerups specializes in making 100% pure wool upper slippers.  All wool slippers are made in Denmark. The wool is closely followed throughout the manufacturing process, all the way from sheep to shoe. It's washed in soft water, carded, shaped into socks, and steam-felted. All indoor models feature soft, flexible, vegetable tanned calfskin soles that are glued and sewn onto the socks. For outdoor wear, a natural rubber sole is available on select models. After some final finishing touches, Glerups are ready for shipment! It has always been a clear objective to produce Glerups with care for people, the animal and the environment. The wool is mechanically cleaned (to the best extent possible) to avoid all unnecessary chemicals. Only dyes that are free of heavy metals and toxic azo-dyes are used.

These cozy slide on slippers  (Glerups Model B) keeps my feet warm on cold tile and hardwood floor. 100% pure natural wool is the main component of these Danish slippers and wick away moisture so your feet don't overheat in them.

The slippers are fitted with a soft calfskin sole which make zero noise when walking on hardwood floors like some slippers with rubber soles do.

The edges of the slippers are trimmed, edged and fitted with soles of pure calf-skin.

Keep in mind that the boots may "shed" during the first days of use. The reason for this is that the coarsest fibres just need to be work their way out of the felt. It is only natural, and the fibres just need to be plucked off.

I contacted the company to inquire how to care for these slippers and this was the response I received:

"They are washable, yes, but I would only do that if absolutely necessary. Wool setting and air dry would be the way to go. They very rarely require a wash though. Wool is naturally self-cleaning and anti-microbial. Most people never have to wash them. You can always freshen them up with a few hours of outside aeration."

Verdict? These are stellar high-end slippers. These make a great gift to others AND yourself. I say gift because they are a little on the pricey side but it really is because these are quality made slippers. The sole is amazing. I have a lot of quality slippers but this sole is unlike any other slipper I own. These slippers feel so soft on the inside and not at all scratchy or rough, which is my only complaint with Haflinger's slippers.  My only complain with these slippers is that when you walk, the heel comes off your heel. So you will feel it rub and and down when you're walking around, but they are so so comfy that I'd still buy them!
