Simba Baby Safety Nail Cutter

I happened across the Simba infant scissors during my search for the best infant scissors to use on a newborn. I was immediately intrigued by this design as it is very similar to the well liked Pigeon infant scissors that are made in Japan, but for a few dollars less!

When I received these scissors, I was surprised by how small these stainless steel blades were and I'll be honest, I was skeptical about its cutting abilities. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried them on my own nails! They cut better and more smoothly with ease than the Piyo Piyo infant nail scissors I have!!

The scissors feature rounded tips to you don't accidentally poke or pierce your wiggly worm. For storage, it comes with a clear protective covering that securely attaches to the end of the scissors.

There were two ways that were comfortable to hold these small scissors. One is pictured above where I put two fingers in one of the holes and one is pictured below where my index finger rests on the plastic piece. I felt a bit more control with maneuvering these small scissors with the method below.

I also wanted to show a comparison between the Piyo Piyo pictured below and laying under the Simba. The former feature a longer blade and smaller holes for your fingers, though it fits my average hands and my husband's average hands perfectly. I prefer these Simbas for infant nails with the smaller blade and cleaner cut but do note that it will take more cuts to finish. The Piyo Piyo is more designed for fewer cuts, so I feel these would be better suited with your child is older.

Overall these are definitely my favorite infant scissors. The open and close mechanism is smoother than the Piyo Piyo and it cuts smoother as well. I can't speak to the longevity of the scissors compared to the Japan made Pigeon, but from my testing of the scissors, they seem well made and durable. So for the cheaper price tag, it is a no brainer to try these scissors!

These are made in Taiwan and are authenticated by the hologram of a lion
