The Friendly Swede is a relatively small and new company that was established in 2011. They are based in Sweden and much of their line cover outdoor activities. There are 7 LED lights, 5 in the front and 1 on each side.  They have 3 modes that you can cycle through: constant, flashing, and strobe.  The lights are water and shock resistant so you can ride in all sorts of weather.  It should last about 50 hours and runs on 3 AAA batteries (not included).  In order to install the batteries, you use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the plastic plate.  The best part is that it comes in a package of TWO!

The loop is stretchy silicone and you have to really pull it to get it over and locked onto the bike pole. It has a plastic inner shell where the lights are.  These lights are not only good for bikes, but also great for walkers or baby strollers!!

Having lights on all sides helps visibility from all angles no matter how you install the light.  I tried the light on an early morning ride and was happy with the results.  The lights are really bright and you really can't miss it if you are a vehicle behind me.

Verdict? The lights are great for safety when you are riding really early in the morning when it is still dark or at night.  They are easily removed in case you are worried about it being stolen and installing it back on is a breeze.  It gives a good spot light in front of you but if you are a mountain biker or need a light to see far and wide, this wouldn't cut it for that.  This is probably best for road bikes and less for mountain biking where you are on rough terrain and in the dark.  The lights should also withstand rain, but it hasn't rained here in the dry (and super drought) sunny California area we live in so I haven't been able to test that out. But, I did shoot a hose at it for a few minutes and it didn't break, so that gave me confidence that it won't fail me if I am ever caught in the rain!
