This is a super compact dual alarm clock radio by Peakeep. The alarm can be set to buzzer or radio. The buzzer alarm starts off soft and then grows louder. The radio alarm will turn on the last setting it was on (same volume and station). So you can leave it on your favorite station, and when the alarm goes off, the radio turns on to your favorite station lightly waking you up.
The digital FM radio give you 10 FM radio stations that you can preset. There's a digital scrolling tuner helping automatically scan for radio stations and quickly locate a strong signal radio station. You can also manually tune it to the station you want.
The clock is AC powered for the radio, alarm and time display functions. There is a slot for two AAA 1.5V batteries (not included) that ensures memorization of all settings so that you don't need to re-set radio, alarm, time if you experience a power outage. Also, there's an independent 30 inch antenna can extend or move to more proper place for excellent radio reception (which I find is a drawback in terms of decor!)
The user manual is pretty important because I did not find is very intuitive to program the clock without it. I actually had to read the manual to help me figure it out. That's a first!
Verdict? I like it based on the fact that I wanted a small clock with red LCD display because other colors don't seem to read as well when it is dark. However, it is not without it's little drawbacks. If you want a clock for radio, this isn't the easiest to operate for those purposes. Additionally, the antenna wire (super old school) needs to be in a certain position for the radio signal to be clear. I simply can't be bothered with the wire. Plus, it looks tacky to have that laying around or strung somewhere. I would have loved the clock if not for the wire. Everything else I am able to overlook. Still, I like the clock because it is simple, small, and sort of cute because of its build. It doesn't take up much room on my nightstand. That is KEY for me. Nightstand space is precious!!
Purchase on Amazon, currently $18.99.
